The Evolution of Milliken Flame Resistant Fabrics
Milliken has been solving everyday problems with innovative solutions for more than 150 years. Our research, design and manufacturing expertise reaches across a breadth of disciplines including specialty chemicals, floor covering and performance and protective textiles. An unwavering commitment to ethics guides our work to redefine how we add strength and protection to products, infuse vibrancy and color into our surroundings and care for the environment. With over 35 manufacturing facilities and more than 7,000 associates globally, success is when discoveries made within Milliken help us all have more meaningful connections with the world.
Trusted by the US Military for over 70 years, Milliken understands that for gear to protect, it also needs to be strong and durable. Milliken’s line of ResQTM fabrics are a breakthrough in Flame Resistant (FR) protection and are engineered to improve the protection and survivability of today’s Warfighter. By combining carefully selected blends of fibers in unique fabric constructions and adding our own patented finishing technology, Milliken creates fabrics that are protective against heat and flame. ResQTM fabrics are engineered to be strong, with a high resistance to tear, even when wet, and its colors stay true longer, for more durable visual and NIR camouflage protection. Additionally, ResQTM FR fabrics provides a high level of protection against flash fires caused by IEDs and other incendiary devices. Because comfort is also important, additional features can be added to make our FR fabrics more breathable, wick moisture and dry quickly.
