Presentation

NATO CD&E process

The Allied Command Transformation (ACT) is NATO’s leading agent for change - driving, facilitating and advocating continuous improvement of Alliance capabilities in order to maintain and enhance its military relevance and effectiveness. NATO, its members and partners are constantly required to address new and changing security challenges. ACT is responsible for developing and implementing plans, policies, systems and methodologies for meeting those challenges. Many elements must be considered when developing a plan of how those challenges are best met. Those elements are first collected, organized and analyzed through the Concept Development and Experimentation (CD&E) process. Concept Development and Experimentation with their inherent Analysis can be described as two separate mutually supporting activities relevant to Capability Development that support the transformational process in NATO. The presentation introduces CD&E process in NATO generally providing basic information for following presentations which focus especially to medical experiment activities in MILMED COE.
