Air Commodore Bruce Wynn (O-7, Brig Gen, RADM (lower half)) spent 34 years in the RAF Information Systems arena, across the Operations, Technical and Intelligence business, including being the Service’ s Chief Information Technology Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Security Accreditation Officer, and Assistant Chief Information Officer. He is now an independent consultant. In the 6 years since his retirement from active duty, he has developed a portfolio of engagements in the informatics and cyber domains, including special advisor to the CIO/CTO of one of the UK’s intelligence agencies, support to large companies such as IBM, Gartner, Lockheed Martin, EADS, Global Crossing and L3 in the UK, and IBM, Guidance Software Inc, Endgame Systems and ResilientComms Corp in the USA. His portfolio also includes active participation as CTO in small niche companies at the heart of the high-security aspects of government (such as Tenix Datagate and Compucat).
He has contributed, as a visiting speaker, to the US Navy CNO’s Strategic Study Group XXVI on “Fighting in Cyberspace in 2030”, and is also a Visiting Scientist AND provides a liaison function with the US Navy's Office Of Naval Research Global, covering Cyber! He has spoken widely on the subject, as well as facilitated discussions and workshops, at conferences and seminars in both the US and the UK. He is a regular at conferences such BlackHat, Defcon and HITB
He is a Senior Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), and a Chartered Information Technology Professional (CITP).
He has been appointed by the Queen as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE)
Bruce is a life member of AFCEA and has been a member since the early 90s.
He was the President of the London Chapter from 2000 to 2003. He runs the UK Chapters web site.
