Colonel Dr. Benjamin Queyriaux was born in 1972. He graduated as Medical Doctor from Lyon University School of Medicine (France) in 2001. He served as general practitioner in an army intelligence unit for 2 years, during which he passed emergency medicine specialisation. Between 2003 and 2009 he was junior epidemiologist in the Epidemiology and Public Health Department of the French Forces Health Service Tropical Medicine Institute (DESP/IMTSSA, Marseilles, France). After this period, he worked in the French Forces Health Service Headquarters (DCSSA, Paris, France) as a senior epidemiologist during the Influenza A H1N1 pandemic. Between October 2010 and February 2014, he was the Deputy Branch Chief of the Deployment Health Surveillance Capability of the NATO Military Medicine Centre of Excellence (DHSC/NATO MilMed CoE, Munich, Germany). He is now the DHSC Branch Chief since March 2014. Benjamin Queyriaux was deployed as emergency physician in Bosnia-Herzegovina and as epidemiologist in Chad, Gabon, Ivory Cost, La Reunion Island, Djibouti, French Guiana, Colombia, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon Islands, Afghanistan and Kosovo. Benjamin Queyriaux’s areas of professional focus are prevention, detection, investigation and management of natural or intentional biological outbreaks and epidemics, health surveillance and medical intelligence
